Traditional dentures are custom-crafted to fit in the contours of your mouth. This perfect fit allows you to function without issue, at least initially.
But over time, your denture will lose this fit, sliding around on your gums and making it more difficult to chew or speak clearly. This isn’t because of the denture itself, but rather your jawbone.
Traditional dentures, especially lower ones, rely on your jaw for support. But after tooth loss, your jawbone begins to shrink, changing in shape and affecting the perfect fit of your prosthetic.

Full arch dental implants refer to replacing an entire arch of teeth with dental implants. Following the natural curve of your jaw, we place these titanium screws in your jawbone to create a strong foundation for an implant denture.
At Brent Bradford, DDS, we often prefer to use mini dental implants whenever possible. These small titanium posts are just as strong as their conventional counterparts, but with a less invasive procedure at half the price.

Snap-In Dentures
For those who want the removability of a traditional denture but the security of an implant restoration, a snap-in denture is a great option!
This prosthetic has a similar base to a traditional denture, but a little less bulky. Rather than using a large upper denture plate that suctions to your upper palate, the denture has a sleeker design that frees the taste buds on the roof of your mouth.
To keep it in place, we use 4 to 8 mini dental implants, with a screw on one end and an O-ball on the other. Once the screw portion is inside your jaw, the O-ball peaks out above your gums.
Inside the denture base are housings with rubber O-rings. These O-rings snap tightly over the O-ball of your implant, securing the restoration in place. Then, for easy cleaning and maintenance, simply “snap” the denture off your implants with ease.
Semi-Removable Roundhouse Bridges
A roundhouse bridge is similar to a denture, but without the traditional base.
Instead, this restoration resembles a full arch of your natural teeth, only using a small gum base when necessary. These arches secure directly over 6 to 10 mini implants, creating a very secure and natural-looking smile.
Unlike snap-in dentures, semi-removable dentures are never removed by you. Only a dental professional like those at Brent Bradford, DDS, can remove these prosthetics for routine cleanings. Otherwise, they stay secure on your implants and function like your natural teeth would.
Non-Removable Roundhouse Bridges
The most secure denture option at Brent Bradford, DDS, is the non-removable roundhouse bridge.
Typically, these restorations don’t need any gum base at all, and instead secure right to your implants above your natural gums. This not only creates an incredibly natural-looking smile, but it’s also a natural feeling as well!
A non-removable roundhouse bridge is cemented in place on your implants. Not even your dentist will remove this prosthetic, since it functions as your natural teeth do!
